Warwickshire Early Music Academy: Tudor Band

Warwickshire County Music Service (CMS) is holding the rehearsals for the Tudor Band at Bath Place Community Venture on Friday evenings.

Tudor Band takes its inspiration from the 'Giant Consort' at the International Festival of the Viol in Northern France. In 2008 numbers in France reached nearly 200, of which 120 were viol players and the rest recorder players and singers. With all the Early Music activity in Warwickshire, now is an ideal time to start a Warwickshire Tudor Band, with a core of our own viol players to which players of other instruments such as recorders and guitars are warmly invited. There will also be an opportunity to try Tudor wind instruments such as crumhorn, cornamuse and shawm.

Tudor Band annual subscription £20.00 (membership is free to those already in one the CPG or Music Centre Early Music groups). Contact the County Music Service for an application form.
